The Challenge

Sport England awarded Calderdale Council’s Active Calderdale programme £2.65 million to help encourage people in the borough to become more active, more often.

The objective was to enable Calderdale to be the most active Borough in the North and feed into the Council’s 2024 Vision.

To help deliver this strategy the Active Calderdale team was seeking project management support to enable the transition of the programme to full distributed system leadership.

The Solution

TDP was slected to support the project and change needed.  Our Project Lead was responsible for directing and delivering on large scale programmes across Council and externally across Calderdale.

We were able to provide clear leadership, and support the overall approach to making Calderdale the most Active Borough in the North by leading both the Active Calderdale delivery and the Sports England Local Delivery Pilot (LDP).

We facilitated the design, strategic oversight, and successful plan delivery alongside the leadership, management, and delivery teams in the Council and  across Calderdale.  Provide strategic and professional leadership in building, supporting, and managing relationships with local and regional partners across public, private and third sectors to deliver the aspirations and vision of the pilot.

We developed and implemented robust governance arrangements, to provide assurance to Sport England and local partners that the Calderdale pilot was being delivered effectively and efficiently, fully responsive to the needs of local people.

We are a visible champion for the Calderdale LDP and Active Calderdale delivery team demonstrating to maintain, broad buy-in to the programme objectives.
